To celebrate Lady Day 2022, we ask our lady readers to dress up and appear in public in the most feminine manner possible. In this way, we can oppose the cultural attack upon what it means to be a true lady.
When a true lady walks into the room, we notice something different and refreshing. She is not the muddled-up version of a woman promoted by the media or popular culture. Instead, the true lady honors and embodies the highest expression of her femininity in all she does, thinks and acts. She is not an androgynous being but a confident and proud expression of a lady. This expression is taken to its height in the Christian lady, who allows her God-given feminine qualities to shine forth to all.
Today more than ever, the true lady provokes questions wherever she appears. People ask: Who is this lady? How does she manage to be so feminine? Why is this attractive? How can others become like her? Her appearance also provokes questions about society. Thus, we might ask: How is it even possible to be such a lady today? Why has she become such a rarity? Is it possible that her manner of being return? What impact does the lack of true ladies (and gentlemen) have on families and society?
Of course, being a lady does not only consist of external appearances. However, a beautiful exterior is often the manifestation of a rich interior life, full of faith, intelligence and culture.
We lost the notion of femininity because so few have the courage to stand out in public. We prefer to blend in with the culture, which discourages the idea of a man being manly or a woman being womanly. Indeed, the tendency is to blur the distinctions to the point of bizarre absurdity.
For example, the relentless promotion of “transgenderism” in today’s media broadcast male swimmers donning female swimsuits and winning women’s swimming competitions. Unfortunately, most people oppose this aberration because the men unsurprisingly win these events due to their natural physical strength. The real problem is men posing as women. We lose the true notion of femininity by reducing it to a person’s imaginings.
For this reason, we summon all true ladies who exist out there to celebrate Lady Day this March 8, 2022. We must consider doing our little part to turn this tide of those who wage war against femininity. It also opposes the United Nation’s International Women’s Day on this same date, which favors an agenda to blur sexual distinctions.
Therefore, let us go out into the public arena and present the highest version of ourselves we can be. We need to be witnesses for others. People need to see us, lots of us. Let us take back the public square, even if for a day or part of a day this year. Ladies need to get together to do what ladies do best.
On this day, let us gather for tea or lunch as families and friends and celebrate being true ladies. Let us take time to pray and earnestly ask Our Lady to help us. Let us take up the task of ever more courageously manifesting what it means to be a daughter of Our Blessed Mother Mary, who bravely said yes, to all God asked of Her. We pray that Our Lady shines her light upon us and that we may let our God-given light shine forth this Lady Day.
