On January 22, 2022, America Needs Fatima held its January Pro-Life Public Square Rosary Rallies to pray for the unborn. Despite bitter weather across much of the nation, there were over 1,254 rosary rallies.
These Public Square Rosary Rallies are a project of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) and its America Needs Fatima campaign.
America Needs Fatima scheduled the effort to coincide with the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. These local rallies are essential because they served to amply the reach of the March for life. The national news media deliberately ignore the hundreds of thousands of people who march in Washington each year. The local rallies turn a single national event into over a thousand local events, raising public awareness about pro-life issues.

As always, the overall goal of these rallies was to do reparation for the sin of procured abortion and ask God and Our Lady of Fatima to guide our Supreme Court justices to abolish the killing of innocents. This year is crucial as the justices consider the recent case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. This case could finally overturn the disastrous 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which made procured abortion legal throughout the United States. It would serve as the beginning step toward banning abortion everywhere.
Enthusiasm and Determination
America Needs Fatima received reports from across the country, from New Jersey to Texas to California. Despite pro-abortion heckling and harassment, rally captains report that the majority of the general public enthusiastically received the rallies. Best of all, the rallies reached out into communities, reminding everyone of the sanctity of innocent life.

The Rally Captains enthusiastically led their bands of prayer warriors in subzero temperatures in Alaska and South Dakota. Others prayed in milder Southern climates. No matter the weather, everyone experienced the joy of praying in public for the most innocent victims of abortion.
America is at a historic crossroads. Participants in this great prayer campaign are confident, knowing that Our Lady always provides the tools to win victories for her Son no matter the difficulties.
Begging Our Lady’s Intercession
On January 22, rally captains across America ventured out to the pubic square with the Rosary, her preferred weapon to bring America and the world back to God.
Only Our Lord and Our Lady know how many souls are touched by the brave Rally Captains’ efforts. Praying in the public square multiplies the number of those exposed to the Faith. At some intersections, thousands of cars pass by. Such chance encounters have been known to begin the process of conversion to the Faith or to change the minds of mothers contemplating abortion.
Over the years, the Public Square Rosary Campaign rallies have been responsible for millions of rosaries prayed at tens of thousands of locations across America. The project’s October rally to pray for America is often held at nearly 20,000 locations annually! There are now additional monthly rallies that feature prayer themes tailored to the nation’s specific needs.
In February, America Needs Fatima will coordinate rallies to commemorate Saints Jacinta and Francisco, targeting the needs of the nation’s youth.
