Roses and ladies go together. They seem to have a natural affinity for one another. The rose symbolizes a type of perfection in the flower garden of God’s earthly creation, while a true dignified lady denotes a kind of perfection attainable with God’s grace for a woman.
However, contrary to these images, our culture today constantly bombards us with anything but the rose or the lady as two ideal symbols of femininity.

And sadly, this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) is no exception from the past. The 2025 campaign theme calls on women to “Accelerate Action” by spreading the erroneous message of gender equality, blurring the distinction between the sexes (including transgenderism) and promoting less-than-ideal female images.
This year, IWD pictures a woman flexing her arm muscle, which is hardly the best female attribute. This historical image of choice is consistent with the event, which was started by the Socialist movement in 1911. The movement has always pushed a radical and culturally destructive agenda.
And so ladies, young and old, we are challenging each other in this fight against what Tradition, Family, and Property founder Professor Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira termed the Revolution, a movement that seeks to destroy Christian civilization. Let us meet this challenge by flexing our spiritual muscles and countering all this Revolution stands for. Let us develop our metaphysical gifts, especially those this Revolution hates the most: refinement, elegance, compassion and nurturing.
And as the birth rate now drops in America to lower than the replacement level at 1.6, let us continue to promote the life-giving role of motherhood. In the Bible, we read: “Yet she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.” (1 Timothy 2:15). In Psalms, we read: “Behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.” (Psalm 127:3)

Thus, this year, participating in Lady Day is more important than ever. We are challenging women all over the world to celebrate this ninth annual Lady Day on Saturday, March 8, 2025, by entering the public arena in your area. And yes, do bring your roses and your beautiful selves and go either before or after your event to pray, perhaps before an altar or shrine of the most perfect of ladies, the Blessed Virgin Mary. Then, get together for lunch at a restaurant or café, visit a public teahouse, coffee shop, or other appropriate public venue. It is important to get out in public and enjoy the simple pleasure and conviviality that this Lady Day promises to offer.
