Organized by Year of the Book publishing, and sponsored by Shipley Energy, the event will spotlight the books and art of 85 local and regional authors and illustrators in addition to book sales. Among the books presented is Return to Order by John Horvat II and American Knight by Norman Fulkerson.
York Book Expo’s inaugural year’s non-profit partners include York County Libraries, which brings books, technology and lifelong learning to area residents. The Expo is proud to feature the works of independent and self-published authors, and is one of the only urban book festivals nationwide to place these local and regional storytellers center-stage. The event is the brain-child of Demi Stevens, of Glen Rock, Penn., who is founder and CEO of Year of the Book press, and editor-in-chief of Self-Pub Magazine. In 2012, Stevens was serving as Director of Paul Smith Library of Southern York County, and started a series of writing courses that led area residents to publish more than 30 books that first year, with over 125 local writers participating in the process.
Thanks to presenting sponsor Shipley Energy, proceeds from York Book Expo will benefit York County Libraries and York County SPCA. To learn more, visit YorkBookExpo.org or Facebook.com/YorkBookExpo. Questions? Call Demi Stevens at (717) 781-4972.
