Members of the many autonomous societies for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) and similar associations around the world gathered together on October 2-4 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the death of the founder of the Brazilian TFP, Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira.

Among the many topics discussed at the event was the book, Return to Order by American TFP vice president John Horvat II.John Horvat Speaking in Sao Paulo

In fact, Prof. Corrêa de Oliveira proposed the study of American culture and economy to a commission of TFP members in 1986. The commission’s studies provided the framework for what would later become the book, Return to Order.

The gathering served as a forum to review the many activities of the TFP associations since the death of Prof. Corrêa de Oliveira. In addition, over five hundred people attended public meetings in gratitude to the founder of the Brazilian TFP, a beautiful Pontifical Mass celebrated by Bishop Athanasius Schneider in the Benedictine Monastery of Sao Bento and a street parade to the historic square where the Jesuit Father Saint José de Anchieta celebrated the first Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on January 25, 1554 founding the city of Sao Paulo.TFP_Pontifical_Mass_Sao_Bento_Monastery_Brazil

Return to Order author John Horvat delivered the final tribute by recalling his own relationship with the renowned Catholic thinker. He also narrated the story of how Return to Order was written.
